Sustainability sits at the heart of the Hope Villa terraced house project — aptly named, as its owners both work in environmental protection and are deeply committed to the cause. Collaborating with architects Proctor & Shaw, they developed a vision that minimised waste and maximised energy efficiency, without compromising on aesthetics.

For the garden, Moss Studio designed a courtyard that connects the new extension with the garden studio, both by Proctor & Shaw. At its centre, a rain garden serves as both a striking feature and a sustainable solution for on-site water management. Three informal seating areas are nestled within generous planting, while permeable and reclaimed materials form the minimal hard landscaping.

A bespoke timber bench echoes the cladding details created by Proctor & Shaw, and a discreet bubbling water feature, fed by harvested rainwater, completes this tranquil courtyard — designed to thrive, rain or shine.
