Unfurl

This garden was designed to feel alive, immersive, and ever-evolving—a contemporary space, softened by lush planting, layers of texture, and a sense of discovery. The owners wanted a place “filled with bees, birds, and butterflies”, while still being in harmony with their home and perfect for entertaining.

A dining and lounge area overlooks the garden, subtly divided by a line of pleached trees, offering privacy, dappled shade, and a natural rhythm to the space. Beyond a small lawn, a gravel path winds its way to a Mediterranean-inspired retreat, where aromatic planting and sun-drenched textures create a moment of stillness.

A gentle bubbling sound invites exploration—the water feature, hidden within a scented border, reveals itself as you move through the space.

Deeper into the garden, the atmosphere shifts. Once gloomy and underused, the woodland-inspired area now embraces the towering canopies of neighbouring trees, transformed into an inviting sanctuary. This is where the family—and their friends—naturally gather, linger, and reconnect, a space that truly unfurls with time and use.
