Process
Consultation & Design Brief
Every project starts with a conversation. We get to know you and understand what you want to achieve. We get a feel for your garden, discuss your preferred timeline, budget and any planning requirements. You then receive a written design brief and fee proposal.
Site Analysis & Concept
Once a topographical survey has been issued, we carry out an in-depth site analysis, record the sense of place, emotional connections, views, micro-climates, sun path and more. We finalise the brief and produce a concept design plan with visuals and moodboards to discuss and amend with you.
Detailed Design
With concept agreed, plans are developed into construction drawings. Each element is considered in detail, including bespoke features, material choices and furniture. This set of drawings will go to contractors to accurately cost the scheme to the correct specification.
Planting Design
A deep understanding of your site informs a planting design document including plans, schedules and visual plant list.
We follow the ‘right plant, right place’ principle and plans are designed to suit your garden’s unique growing conditions and overall design aesthetic.
Tender
Making the design a reality relies on the right people and good communication.
We have nurtured long-standing relationships with trusted contractors, engineers and craftsmen who share our principles and passion for quality. If you already have someone in mind, we can guide you through the tender process.
Construction Monitoring
We attend site for initial setting out, setting out of plants and to advise on progress. This involves liaising with contractors and yourself throughout the building phase to ensure the correct specification and quality of the works.
We are on hand to deal with any issues and to respond to changes which may be required.
Follow up
Your garden is now complete and ready for you to enjoy. Maintenance is key for a garden to thrive and develop as intended. Handing the garden to the right gardener is essential and we will assist you in this.
We provide seasonal planting reviews to ensure the garden is establishing well and address areas that might need tweaking.
